Free Nature Journaling Workshop for children in Mid- Wales

“A fun and interactive workshop for children between age 7-12, living in Powys, Wales.”

Really pleased to announce that we have been granted Summer of Fun Funding and will be running workshops this summer.

Our popular adventure workshops will be taking place in July 2022. This summer, the theme is going to be:

“Nature Journaling- Explore nature through your journal”.


Booking early is recommended, because the spaces normally fill up fast!


Location: Amber Castell, Newbridge on Wye, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 6HB

Please note, all our Nature Journaling Workshops are nearly fully booked.

We have a reserve list in case of cancellations. If you would like to be added to our priority contact list, please get in touch with us, providing your child's name and age.


If there are a lot of children on our reserve list, we will open up additional sessions.


What will the participants learn?

The children will make their own nature journals, which they will be able to take home in order to continue nature journaling in their own time.


Children will learn techniques, tips, tricks and ideas in a relaxed, home from home atmosphere. Providing children with skills they can use independently at home.


Children will learn how to find nature close to home. Tapping into curiosity, wonder and to capture observations using simple materials available at home.


Boosting confidence and creativity. Celebrating nature and appreciation of the beauty around us. Raising awareness about caring for our environment and inspiring children to share their nature journal journey with family and friends.

Spreading joy of nature journaling. Encouraging children to notice the small things around them and to be inspired by nature, be it in their garden, on their walk to school, a family walk or taking their dog out for a hike. The workshop will help children to connect with nature.


· Children will be introduced to nature journaling

· 3 hours duration

· Ideal for independent, creative boys and girls between age 7-12

· Art and cultural activity

· Ideal for curious children who enjoy writing, drawing and creativity.

· Spending time away from electronic devices

· Guidance and all materials provided in a home from home environment

· Learn how to make their own journal (basic book binding)

· Promote self- development

· Help to explore a creative hobby

· Workshop leader and helper have an enhanced DBS in place

· Children can be dropped off just before start of session and collected at the end of the session


What will be provided?

A free interactive workshop with a focus on nature journaling, drawing, writing and watercolour, as a way of developing and building creative skills for the future.

Our workshops are all inclusive, hands on and engaging. The activities are adjusted to age and ability. High quality materials will be provided for a creative experience.

Directions:

Our farm is located on the A470, a mile out of Newbridge on Wye, on the way to Rhayader. There is a large layby on the right- hand side. We will put up a sign in our drive to direct you and you will be able to follow the arrows.
